Rules shift materially at 13U. Leading off is standard. Stealing on the catch is allowed. Base paths move toward 80-90 feet; mound distances increase toward 60 feet. Velocity development becomes visible. Pitchers who have been throwing since 9U-10U start to separate from peers. Select costs jump at 13U: $4,000-8,000 is common for established organizations with full tournament schedules, before travel costs.

Pitching rules: Full leading off. Stealing on the catch is allowed.

Field dimensions: 80-90 foot base paths, 54-60 foot mound distance.

Commitment: Select: 3-4 practices/week, 18-22 tournament weekends/year. Year-round at most elite programs.

Cost range: Rec: $100-400/season. Select: $4,000-8,000 plus travel.
